Becky Borsavage Betz started out working at Dick's Deli (est. 1964) on State Street in Newtown Borough in 1979. After managing Dick's Deli for several years, her husband Harry (who owns Newtown Bicycle Shop 1 block up on State Street) encouraged her to venture out on her own. Dick Guzikowski was persuaded to sell the business to Becky and Harry and in 1990, Becky's Newtown Deli was established.
Born and bred in the Newtown area, Becky cares about her customers and tries to make everyone who comes through the door feel like "a regular." Her years of experience are reflected in the tasty food she serves. She is also a fountain of information about the area, and often answers questions about Newtown and the surrounding areas.
A big sports fan, she has a prized piece of memorabilia, her father's 1950-51 Philadelphia Warriors warmup jacket, hanging in the rear of the store. A standout at Temple University, Costic "Ike" Borsavage played for a year in the NBA. Following that, he coached basketball at Council Rock High School.
Becky's Italian is Newtown famous, fresh sliced daily, half or wholes sizes available.
Fresh made to order, start your day off at Becky's.
